A Dedication to the Harvey Family...

Bryan, Kathryn, Stella Ann, and Ruby May Harvey, sadly in absentia, are still our guests of honor at The Rainmaker Festival this year. Above the qualities so often used to describe them, such as creative, passionate, talented and good-humored, the Harvey family were loved by so many, and loved so many.

Upon getting to know their close friends, such as Chris Zechini and Coby Batty, it is so obvious: as true friends go, the Harveys were the real thing. If you're trying to grow a family complete with nurturance, fun, good parenting, and support for everyone's creative muses, they're the ones you want to copy. The multitude of good people who were close to them, who continue to honor them in so many ways, are also a testament to their extraordinary character, and hopefully to the healing power of good work in response to great tragedy.

We at The Rainmaker Festival are honored to support The Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment, and its mission of affording musical opportunities for children in need, and send continued prayers and wishes for comfort and healing to their loved ones.

The Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment
The Fund is established in memory of Bryan, Kathryn, Stella and Ruby Harvey and is advised by a committee of their family and friends. Bryan and Kathryn shared a love of music and art, and they were known to their family and friends as kind and generous people. Thus, it is appropriate that the purpose of the Bryan and Kathryn Harvey Family Memorial Endowment is to provide music, visual art and performing arts enrichment in the Richmond area, which may include but is not limited to educational scholarships.

Operation Hope
Operation Hope was established in 2004 by Dana Nelson and Katie Stilwell, recognizing the need of many children in our area to have a play area that they could share with their friends and interact with other children. Because of varied disabilities or special needs, they were truely missing out.

Objectives
To provide playgrounds that will maximize the development of children, regardless of their age or ability.
To comply with safety guidelines and provide safe access to all areas of the playground.
To educate the community on the need to promote understanding and acceptance of others.
To foster the development of social skills in children that will last a lifetime.
To provide a barrier-free environment where children, parents, grandparents, and siblings can relax and interact.
To provide playgrounds where physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists can utilize a natural environment for sessions.
To promote cognitive growth through imagination and play; encourage hands-on mental and physical educational experiences.
